The United Pallet Network (UK) Ltd was founded in 2001 to meet the ever-changing needs of the palletised freight market within the UK and European road transport industry.

UPN (UK) Ltd operates a 'Hub and Spoke' system from a central facility strategically located in Leicestershire, providing our membership with a palletised freight transhipment and administration service. In return, our membership offers an extensive range of services that cater to the diverse demand required by the supply chain industry of today.

Quality and Performance are a key factor in any business and ours is no exception, performance levels throughout the organisation are constantly monitored, allowing UPN (UK) Ltd and the membership to maintain and provide a high quality palletised delivery service, nationwide!

The United Pallet Network (UK) Ltd is an association of like-minded individuals all with differing needs but common in one objective… QUALITY!

QUALITY and PERFORMANCE

The basis of our operation is identified in our network procedures manual .  This document outlines the entire process upon which all network activity is undertaken.  A familiarisation and induction training plan is adopted for all new members to the United Pallet Network.

UPN aim to maintain the high standards expected within the industry today and work closely with a democratically elected network consultative committee consisting of a number of member depot principals who meet at regular intervals with the board of directors of UPN (UK) Ltd.  In addition, our Customer Care department is always available to help and support our members.

UPN (UK) Ltd have a totally bespoke IT system tailored around global and individual needs of the Hub and member alike and our research and development programme continues unabated with many new options becoming available.

IT

The whole network is web-based. All consignment details, manifests, order tracing, proofs of delivery and invoicing is through the central UPN website.

Proofs of delivery are now "captured" at the time of delivery on a hand-held computer (PDA). This signature is immediately transmitted to the UPN website. From there, the depots, and clients, can view, in real-time, the signature. This eliminates the frustration of numerous telephone calls trying to establish an in-decipherable signature. Naturally a hard copy proof of delivery is also obtained, along with Clients POD if required.
